Entrepreneurial Management Techniques Training
As a prerequisite for accessing the loan, all clients are required to attend
the BTFL’s five (5) day training program. The training is integral, as it
seeks to equip the participants with the essential knowledge and skills
needed to effectively manage their businesses. In addition, attending the
training provides the opportunity for participants to undertake business
networking and promote their businesses.
No loan disbursements will be made until clients have successfully
completed the training.

Community-based Training
Owning Your Own Business and being Your Own Boss
The Barbados Trust Fund Ltd. (BTFL) has partnered with the Private
sector entity, “Equip4U” to execute its Entrepreneurial Management
Techniques training program throughout various communities within the
island. The community-based project, “Owning Your Own Business and
Being Your Own Boss” is aimed at equipping individuals within the
respective communities with sector specific knowledge and expertise in
the areas lawn care, general maintenance, and auto valet services.
Equip4U has put together equipment packages at reduced rates for
participants of the training program. Loan funding will be provided through
the BTFL.
The BTFL provides training in entrepreneurial management techniques
and utilises its resource personnel to foster the business cluster and co-
operative concepts amongst participants. Where necessary the BTFL will
also engage the resources of other Business Support Organisations
(BSOs) to provide training and expertise. The program has targeted
persons who were recently retrenched from the government’s “Debushing
program.” and other individuals who are desirous of embarking on
businesses within the sub-sectors mentioned or other business sectors.
