Mission

The Mission of The Barbados Trust Fund Limited is to create the conditions for the empowerment and the creation of generational wealth through fostering sustainable Micro enterprise development by providing access to credit, enterprise training, business support and other professional developmental services.

The mission is to be achieved through collaboration, education and continuous improvement.

Vision

To become the leading agency for the empowerment and creation of Micro businesses with the aim of moving such enterprises from the informal to the formal sector.

About the Organization

The Barbados Trust Fund Ltd (BTFL) was officially opened on November 5th, 2018 by the Honorable Dwight Sutherland, Minister Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Commerce. The Company has significantly impacted the entrepreneurial landscape in the island by providing funding to a number of new and existing businesses.

The company reports to a Board of Management. Its General Manager, oversees the daily operations of the company. The BTFL comprises the following departments:

• Business Development
• Compliance
• Recovery
• Operations and Administration
• Information Technology

Training

The Barbados Trust Fund Limited has exposed its clients to its entrepreneurial development programme which consist of training in the following modules:

• Introduction to Management
• Financial Management
• Introduction to Marketing
• Customer Service Excellence
• Costing and Pricing

Apart from in-house training, the BTFL has been engaged in a number of community-based training throughout the island; particularly the promotion of “clusters.”
Training workshops and seminars are also facilitated.
